
11 Feb Press Release: Yamoransa Model Labs Program Announces the Fourth Annual Impact Roundtable Discussion & Robotics Competition
Accra, Ghana – The Yamoransa Model (YM) Labs Program, funded by the Helping Africa Foundation (HAF) and managed by IMPLEMENTERS, is pleased to announce the fourth edition of the Annual Impact Roundtable Discussion (AIRTAD) and Robotics Competition, scheduled to take place from February 22nd to 26th, 2025.
Theme:
“The Yamoransa Model Impact Year: Scaling the Successes of Bridging Educational Gaps with Technology.”
Since its inception in 2016, the YM Labs Program has been at the forefront of promoting Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and STEAM education in underserved communities across Ghana and other African nations. The program provides students with practical STEAM learning experiences, equipping primary, junior, and secondary school learners with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the digital era.
AIRTAD serves as a platform to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the YM Labs Program while fostering critical discussions on the future of STEAM education in Ghana.
Event Structure and Schedule
This year’s event is divided into two segments: the preliminary competitions and the main event.
Preliminary Competitions:
- February 22 & 24, 2025 – Hosted at Academic City University, Accra, these competitions will see participating schools showcase their robotics and STEAM-based projects.
Main Event:
- February 25, 2025 – Roundtable discussions on the YM Labs as a blueprint for sustainability, exhibitions featuring innovative student projects, and a networking mixer bringing together policymakers, academics, and industry leaders. (Venue: Cedi Conference Center, University of Ghana, Legon.)
- February 26, 2025 – The Finals of the Robotics Competition, a guest lecture on ethical considerations for AI in the classroom, lightning talks, and an awards ceremony recognizing the most innovative student projects from YM Labs.
