Job Summary
The Security Officer is responsible for safeguarding residents, staff, and property by patrolling premises, monitoring surveillance systems, managing access control, and ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols. The role requires vigilance, discretion, and professionalism to create a secure yet welcoming environment across ACALPHA residences and other PREBBiE Group facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Control access at entry and exit points by verifying identification, registering visitors, and enforcing access permissions.
- Patrol the premises, both indoors and outdoors, to deter suspicious activity, inspect vulnerable points, and maintain a visible security presence.
- Monitor CCTV systems, alarms, and other surveillance technologies continuously, alerting relevant personnel of anomalies.
- Conduct searches of bags or materials carried by staff and contractors, and oversee the goods pass-out process to prevent unauthorized removal of items.
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, security breaches, or suspicious incidents, coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services when required.
- Enforce community policies and safety rules, including loitering restrictions, visitor protocols, and restricted hours, while respecting resident and guest privacy.
- Investigate and document security incidents, thefts, or criminal damage, preparing written reports and submitting findings to supervisors.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date visitor logs, incident logs, key registers, and shift reports, ensuring secure record-keeping.
- Assist in routine security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
- Report hazards, maintenance issues, or safety concerns to the Facility & Safety Manager or relevant operations teams for timely resolution.
- Liaise with contractors, staff, and residents to ensure compliance with health, safety, and access regulations.
- Ensure facility spaces are locked and secure when not in use.
- Check for safety hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Report any issues or concerns to the line manager for prompt resolution.
- Document inspection findings and maintain records for future reference.
- Assist in coordinating and supervising repair and maintenance activities.
- Follow guidelines and standard operating procedures by adhering to health and safety processes and company policies.
- Perform other administrative tasks as required by the line manager or CEO.

Surveillance Monitoring Uptime
- Target: 90%
- Metric: Percentage of CCTV/monitoring systems operational
Emergency Response Time and Communication
- Target: Respond to 90% of phone calls within 10 minutes
- Metric: Number of responded emails and phone calls / Total number of phone calls x 100
Evacuation & Drill Compliance
- Target: 95%
- Metric: Percentage of adherence to evacuation protocols during drills/alarms
Regular Inspection Frequency
- Target: Every 3 hours
- Metric: Frequency of scheduled inspections conducted to identify potential security gaps, vulnerabilities, or breaches.
Incident Resolution Rate
- Target: 90%
- Metric: Percentage of events set up and cleaned up within the required timeframe.
Incident Reporting Rate
- Target: 100% within 24 hours
- Metric: Percentage of incidents reported to the supervisor.
Data Entry
- Target: Enter 100% of security data accurately within 30 minutes after completion.
- Metric: Number of accurate and timely data entries / Total number of data entries x 100
Compliance Rate
- Target: 100%
- Metric: Percentage of compliance with safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or individuals with high school/SHS certificates, or who have one to three (1–3) years of experience in the same role/job function.
- Previous experience in security operations, access control, surveillance monitoring, or facility protection.
- Basic knowledge of security procedures, emergency response, and safety regulations.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle conflicts professionally.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform routine patrols and respond promptly to incidents.
- Ability to operate security systems such as CCTV, alarms, and access control devices
