Job Summary

The Organisational Communications Associate will support effective internal and external communications for our social development non-profit organisation. The successful candidate will develop and implement communications strategies, craft compelling content, public relations announcements, press releases, marketing materials, and branding for the organisation, as well as timely dissemination of organisational information to diverse audiences.

 

Key Responsibilities

Internal Communication

  • Develop and implement organisational communications plans.
  • Manage internal communications channels (e.g., email, digital signage).

 

Content Development and Brand Messaging

  • Develop, edit, and publish high-quality content across multiple platforms, including newsletters, press releases, website content, and social media.
  • Ensure consistency in tone, voice, and messaging across all organisational communications, reinforcing IMPLEMENTERS’ brand identity.
  • Create engaging stories and materials that highlight the organisation’s mission, values, and the impact of its work.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather organisational highlights and updates, transforming them into compelling narratives for public distribution.

 

Brand Management

  • Maintain organisational brand guidelines and standards.
  • Develop and update communication  materials (e.g., brochures, fact sheets, paraphernalia) to align with brand messaging for public consumption.
  • Ensure consistent branding across all communications channels.

 

External Communications and Media Relations

  • Build and maintain relationships with media contacts, pitching stories and securing media coverage for key organisational  initiatives and milestones.
  • Prepare press releases, media kits, and other materials to support external engagement and brand visibility.
  • Monitor media coverage and maintain a media database to track the organisation’s presence and reputation in the public sphere.
  • Serve as a point of contact for media inquiries, coordinating responses with relevant departments to ensure timely and accurate information.

 

Social Media and Digital Engagement

  • Develop and implement a social media and digital communications strategy to enhance online engagement and drive awareness of IMPLEMENTERS’ mission and projects.
  • Manage the organisation’s social media accounts, posting regular updates, responding to inquiries, and tracking engagement metrics.

 

Other Responsibilities

  • Track and analyse communication metrics (engagement, reach, impact).
  • Support event planning and execution (e.g., fundraising galas, conferences).
  • Develop and implement crisis communications plans.
  • Conduct communications research and analysis.
  • Support project communications team for effective delivery.

 

Key Performance Indicators

Brand Awareness

  • Metric: Increase in social media followers
  • Target: 25% growth per quarter

 

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Metric: Number of stakeholders engaged through communications
  • Target: 3,000 stakeholders per quarter with newsletters

 

Website Traffic

  • Metric: Monthly website visitors
  • Target: 5,000 visitors

 

Timeliness of Communications

  • Metric: Percentage of communications delivered on time
  • Target: 95%

 

Quality of Communications

  • Metric: Feedback rating from stakeholders (scale: 1-5)
  • Target: 4.5/5

 

Project Visibility

  • Metric: Number of project-related media mentions
  • Target: 6 mentions per quarter / 6 social media posts on projects per quarter

 

Stakeholder Satisfaction

  • Metric: Stakeholder satisfaction rating (scale: 1-5)
  • Target: 4.5/5

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Media & Communications/Public Relations, Journalism, Business Administration, or relevant field 
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in an entry-level role.
  • Good Digital Communications skills.
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of graphic design, video production, or photography.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and applications relevant to the department
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and content creation tools.

 

Key Competencies

  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Good administrative skills.
  • Experience with international development, social, or non-profit sector.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages will be a great advantage.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise multiple tasks.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.

 

Conditions of Service

IMPLEMENTERS  shall be responsible for the provision of transport, office support and other material requirements to facilitate the work of the Organisational Communications Associate.
